A help centre in every language you offer

Write your articles once. Add languages in Settings and AskBase drafts each translation for you to review, beside the original.

24 languages

The help centre's own words, like search and “Popular articles”, come translated already, and so does the chat.

Translations wait for review

AI drafts each translation and it waits until someone publishes it, or you can let them go live straight away. Readers see the original until then.

You know what's out of date

Change an article and its translations show as out of date. The published one stays up while the update waits for review.

Links and formatting kept

Headings, lists, links, screenshots and product names come through exactly as they were. Only the words readers read change.

Readers pick their language

A language menu on every page, and each language at its own address, so search engines list the right one for each reader.

Found in their words

Search on the help centre looks through the translations, so a German reader searching in German finds the German article.

The AI answers in their language

Customers ask the chat in any language and get the answer in that language, from your articles, with links to the translated article where there is one.

  • The chat opens in the visitor's browser language, when your help centre offers it
  • Answers in the language the question was asked in, even from articles written in another
  • “Talk to a person” is understood in any language, and hands over to your team
  • Your own site can set the chat's language with one attribute

An inbox that translates both ways

When a customer writes in another language, AskBase says which, translates their email into yours, and translates your reply into theirs before you send it.

  1. 1

    Read it in your language

Each teammate chooses the language they read in. Customer emails are translated for them, with the original kept above.

  2. 2

Write in yours, send in theirs

Write your reply as usual, then translate it into the customer's language. Read it back in yours before you send.

Questions people ask

Which languages are supported?
Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian. The AI chat answers in other languages too.
Do AI translations go live automatically?
Not unless you want them to. By default each translation waits as a draft for someone to read and publish. You can switch that off in Settings if you'd rather they publish straight away.
What happens when I update an article?
Its translations are marked out of date. Readers keep seeing the published translation until you publish an updated one, which AskBase can draft for you.
Is there a limit on translations?
AI article translations are included on paid plans with a monthly allowance. On any plan you can write translations yourself, and the help centre's own words come in every language.
